
Jamie Kaminski

Jamie brings over 27 years of experience in the resource management sector, with a focus on advancing Zero Waste policies and programs. He specializes in aligning Canadian practices with international standards and works with fellow advisors to craft practical, enforceable policies that drive meaningful change.
Over the years, Jamie has contributed his expertise through leadership roles with the Recycling Council of BC (2006–2014), Metro Vancouver’s Disposal Ban Effectiveness Working Group (since 2013), and the Recycle First Coalition (2013–2016), a group of major processors shaping solid waste policy. Internationally, he has advised on the UL2799 Zero Waste to Landfill Certification Standard (since 2013) and has played a key role with the Zero Waste International Alliance, chairing the International Zero Waste Definition and Hierarchy working groups.
Jamie has presented and moderated at Zero Waste conferences across the globe, from the United States to the Philippines. He currently serves as Lead Policy Advisor for Zero Waste Canada and as a board member of the Zero Waste International Alliance.
