Samiya Rashmi

Member of the Board


Samiya is a community engagement and partnership professional with more than seven years of experience in the non-profit sector. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Resource and Environmental Management and Sustainable Community Development from Simon Fraser University and is passionate about building partnerships that create meaningful social and environmental impact.

Before moving to Canada, Samiya founded Scientrack, an organization dedicated to science education and advocacy for underprivileged children. She also served as Head of Communications for a youth foundation, supporting youth leadership and community-driven initiatives.

Throughout her career, Samiya has collaborated with organizations including UNICEF, the Canadian Red Cross, and BC Children’s Hospital to advance community development, youth engagement, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. She has also contributed to a federally funded Opportunity Fund Project, expanding access to employment and career services for persons with disabilities.

Today, Samiya continues to foster collaboration and community partnerships through her work with the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of British Columbia.
