How the Certification Process Works

Zero Waste Canada certification programs follow a structured recognition and verification process. The exact pathway may vary by certification type, but most applicants move through four main phases.

Expression of Interest: Submit an interest form, participate in an introductory call, and complete a readiness review with HSR.
Registration: Register for the certification pathway that best fits your facility, event, or project.
Recognition: Prepare and submit the required documentation for recognition, where applicable, and receive confirmation from Zero Waste Canada.
Certification: Complete the certification application and documentation process. Zero Waste Canada will conduct the final review and provide verification and certification status.
